Bali Malas are lovingly hand made in Bali, Indonesia by our designer and creator Aum Rudraksha Designs. Our malas/jewelry are made with the sacred rudraksha beads coupled with healing gemstones.
Rudraksha beads are seeds that form naturally from the rudraksha tree. The mythology that surround the rudraksha (means "the eyes of Shiva") is that the Hindu god Shiva meditated on the welfare of all mankind and cried tears of compassion. These tears upon hitting the earth formed these seeds. Rudrakshas beads bless the wearer with peace of mind; protect against evil doers and spirits; and bless with peace and prosperity. They are immediately cooling to the touch and pleasingly soft to the eye.
Many have experienced an uplifted mood, calming of the mind, and the feeling of bein "in nature" with the use and wearing of rudrakshas. Worn by Buddha, Gandhi and the Dalai Lama, they are truly divine. The ancients consider them to be very healing and sacred. Some claim that they help to quiet the mind and free negative thought. Wearing them on a regular basis can facilitate a relationship with your body, mind, spirit and the bead.
Rudraksha have a very long life, sometimes known to last up to eight generations. They are considered sacred and need to be treated with respect and care. Wash them occasionally to remove dirt and dust. Oil them with coconut or sandalwood oil to preserve them. They will naturally turn darker with you own body oil, this is the desired effect. Remove when you sleep.
